The basic features and concept
Your content and data should be yours to manage and do with
as you please. Your images, writing, tags, profile, blog entries, comments,
testimonials, video, and music should be yours to download and move anyplace you
want.
We will help ensure that no website ever holds your data hostage.

How it will work
Download: You download the MoveMyData installer.
Install: You install the MoveMyData tool on your computer.
Run: You run it to download or upload data.
Specify websites and accounts: You specify which sites you want to upload to and download from. Your usernames and passwords can entered as needed or can be stored on your computer.
Specify which content: You specify how much content and which content is uploaded or downloaded.
You can auto upload or download: You can set options for periodically auto uploading content to one or more sites. Rather than uploading content to flickr manually, you will just put your content in a directory which will be auto uploaded. This can also be used to sync up content between sites.
The philosophy
It's your content! If you add content to a site, then you should be able to take that content with you. You should also be able to take all associated tags and metadata. You should be able to move your content from one site to another. If a site is unfair and does not respect the rights of the creators, we will fight back.
Open Source! This will be an open source project. This helps the project in a number of ways:
Community built: If a programmer wants to move their content from one to a site and that isn't yet supported, by our system, they can add support for that site. Once one person adds this support, then everybody can upload to or download from that site. This is an ideal project to be created by the community.
